Since having been called to the Bar in 2014, Ben has established himself as one of the preeminent litigation lawyers in the Cambridge area. His professional practice includes construction litigation, estate litigation, commercial litigation and employment litigation.
When it comes to litigation and dispute resolution, Ben propounds a settlement-first mentality. He is, however, an experienced trial advocate. Ben has represented clients before the Ontario Court of Justice, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Court of Appeal, as well as at a variety of administrative tribunals.
Ben is also proud to provide representation to various Police Associations in southwestern Ontario. His expertise includes representation in Special Investigation (SIU) investigations, Office of the Independent Police Review Director (OIPRD) investigations, disciplinary proceedings under the Police Services Act, appeals before the Ontario Civilian Police Commission (OCPC), and grievance arbitration work.
Prior to joining Matlow, Miller, Cummins, Thrasher LLP, Ben graduated with distinction from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2010. He attended law school at the Queen’s University Faculty of Law where he was recognized for outstanding academic achievement on several occasions. Ben graduated with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in 2013.
Ben is a proud lifelong resident of Cambridge. He currently lives in Cambridge with his wife and two sons.
Ben is a past member of the Rotary Club of Cambridge (Preston-Hespeler). He is proud to have been involved in the Cambridge Times Rotary Classic committee and the Rotary Oktoberfest committee. Ben emphasizes community connectivity and is eager to participate in local undertakings.
